Kim Hauriel is a homeschooling/unschooling mother of two in Naples, FL. She is currently the Co-Director(former director) of the Homeschoolers of Collier County (an inclusive support group) and an active member and past co-leader of a local Roots & Shoots group, and is a past president and newsletter editor of a MOMS Club chapter. Kim’s family is dedicated to a long future of homeschooling in Florida.
Her inspiration in helping start SHEAF was an acute feeling of there not being a large, secular, homeschool-only convention available without having to leave the state. She felt that there was room for another state-wide organization, a secular one, that would focus on homeschoolers (of all sorts) and their commonalities. By being involved with SHEAF, Kim hopes that the future of homeschooling/unschooling in Florida will continue to be a bright one for her children.
Kim says, “I am so excited at the thought of the upcoming 2009 SHEAF Convention and I can’t wait to meet everyone there.”
